Trailer: HORRIBLE HISTORIES – THE ROMANS

maxresdefault

The second Horrible Histories movie is every bit as gleefully bonkers as the first. Whilst it may not be as consistently funny as the Bill, it’s still daft enough to make you laugh like a tit for 90 minutes. That grown adults get to make such stupid films and manage to keep a straight face is commendable. Terry Deary’s unstoppable brands, which begun as books, is a wonderful way to cheat your way into becoming a historian in no time but don’t expect all that much help from the film. Instead just focus on the fart jokes and . you’ll be OK.

The whole cast follow the Monty Python playbook closely so that their amiable performances are of the exceptionally dim and hammy. Best in show is Rupert Graves (A ROOM WITH A VIEW) as a Roman war monger who delivers confusing troop rallying cries.

5 OUT OF 10 – It’s a fun diversion but don’t go in cynical. Dafter and madder than anything else you’ll have seen this year.
